double-exposure photography: technique in which a piece of film is exposed twice to two different images. the resulting photographic image shows the second image superimposed over the first. double-exposure is applied to add objects or people to a scene that weren’t originally there & to forge a ‘ghostly’ effect w/out manipulating the exposure compensation post photographing.
san francisco artist pakayla biehn collaborates w/photographers. together they push the limits of double-exposure photography to generate inspirational oil paintings. the subsequent creation is astonishing & certainly beautiful.
