the style & refinement of bianca jagger’s early 80s wardrobe is the source of inspiration for the romantic & feminine valentino pre-fall 2012. ensembles for day focus on miniature, flared coats, small suits, high-waisted, ankle-length pants & jumpsuits that bare the shoulders. cocktail hour sees tone-on-tone details, precious fabrics (lace, brocade, velvet, taffeta), little dresses w/unexpected volumes on the sleeves & hips. likewise, evening ensembles follow the same philosophy, but lengthen hemlines & choose the beloved colours of the fashion house.

the ‘louis-vuitton-monogram-handbag’ epidemic tainted my perspective of the haute label. authentic or replica, millions of women from all demographics hook arms w/louis. the house designs gorgeous handbags that are accessible to the fans, but i have yet to comprehend the acquisition of a handbag made w/conceivably the most replicated monogram print. although, some could say the same of chanel’s timeless 2.55 — my adored & coveted piece.
nonetheless, beyond the crowded leather department you’ll discover vuitton’s crème de la crème – a place that is overlooked by those who solely recognize the label by its brown monogram print. hanging in the wide open space is the label’s glorious, opulent collection of furs, cashmere, leather, jersey, silk & every luxe fabric man has magnificently crafted.

note: lea michele’s overall look is very sad. wearing a cockatoo as headgear would look better than her hideous coiffe. what looks like michele’s attempt at posing like an old-hollywood actress nearly taints marchesa’s masterpiece. although, my twenty red carpet faves are judged on their overall look, i simply couldn’t exclude marchesa from my list.
