this post is way overdue, but it’s never too late to blog about the oscars red carpet 2012.
the one true best-dressed red carpet moment: gwyneth paltrow in tom ford. w/one entrance wearing a white crêpe de chine asymmetrically draped column & dramatic floor-length cape, paltrow single-handedly redefined hollywood red-carpet dressing.
rooney mara is among the few who have the 20-inch waist to wear madame grès couture. despite the dozens of fittings & her attraction to a madame grès midriff-cutout strapless, mara went w/what she loved: a white lace column w/plunging neckline & train by givenchy haute couture by riccardo tisci.
angelina jolie arrived minutes before the red carpet closed wearing atelier versace. heavy black velvet isn’t a fabric typically associated w/the hollywood vixen, but she worked the sexy strapless neckline & thigh-high slit to flaunt her flawless milky-white skin & lean limbs — though, her striking poses were a bit overkill.
red carpet minimalism seemed to be the trend throughout 2012’s award season, but the five-star penelope cruz kept true to her red carpet style. wearing chiffon organza in the styles of armani privé, her ball gown radiated old hollywood glamour.
