cet obscur objet du désir. the 1977 film of the same name studies objects of desire; things that tease, tantalise & stir a growing sense of longing that cuts deeper the longer the desired object goes unattained. translate the late-70s film into an editorial & we have amped up levels of sensuality, raw displays of lust & the binding ropes of bondage from the likes of la perla & agent provocateur. however, the images are more about the mood less about the lingerie — & in which the males are anonymous, faceless counterparts to their obscure objects of desire.
