beauté blanche. there’s something about the colour white that reflects a person’s innocence, youth & unadulterated sensuality. it’s clean, calm & gentle in the most obvious fashion, but white possesses an angelic aura that comes alive like no other colour.

in this beautiful editorial the notion of white beauty is explored through the means of tulips, roses, lilies & plenty of sheer fabrics. the presence of flowers in each frame reinstates its purity, giving more character & voice to the model.

scrapbooking arizona muse. so thematic is prada’s retro-inspired spring/summer 2012 collection that it’s destined to end up at the centre of editorial after editorial (after editorial). you can leave it to photographer paolo roversi to be completely unfazed by all that’s gone before, sidelining the rockabilly hot-rod elements in favour of a honed-in look at the ladylike details of the collection. roversi ‘scrapbook’s’ colour photos w/vintage veneer of a classically styled arizona muse atop black & white photos of his muse (pun intended) posing nude.

photographer rolf a. jensen’s shoot ‘all dressed up’ takes place in a hotel room & the narrative centres around one of those inevitable moments. our protagonists, models lea grøsland & kimera get dressed to face the night, helping each other style their hair, but phoning around to find a party proves fruitless & they’re left to make their own fun. champagne from room service & a game of strip poker later the old proverb of ‘all dressed up & nowhere to go’ may be true, but it’s no barrier to a fun night in.
