inside a cali girl’s closet. lauren conrad has moved on to many notable endeavors beyond reality tv. mtv’s reality show, the hills foreshadowed conrad’s design career. her latest design project, paper crown is a translation of conrad’s signature style into a specialty line of vintage & lingerie-inspired pieces. although she’s a self-declared “non-romantic,” the feminine collection definitely embraces romance & ethereal goodness.

by use of infrared photography, a technique that has the ability to reveal what they eye can’t see, yiu yu hoi paints the city of hong kong in a pink cotton candy dream. hoi seeks out trees, making them look vibrant in their pink-ish tone. “the trees[…]are bluish straight out of the camera. a more natural reddish tone could be available by simply swapping blue & red channels in photoshop[…]a powerful way to develop coloured infrared photos.”

gucci pre-fall 2012 is a subdued, flowing & minimalist interpretation of the jazz age, an era channeled by fashion designer extraordinaire, frida giannini. her follow-up collection for fall includes a medley of straight minimalism, vibrant red matched w/variations of grey, brown, beige & white & a youthful poppy print – the exemplary mix fit for the direction of the season. & of course!, it wouldn’t be gucci w/out extravagant, affluent furs. my fave piece: natural red fox jacket inlaid w/a black chevron design (look no. 5) – i’d die.
