meet my sosa babe. my 60lb lap dog, age five, american pit bull terrier, female. unconditionally loyal, eats cheese, walks outside without a leash (or muzzle), sunbathes in the summer, gives kisses. dislikes loud noises (including her own bark), sleeping alone, short-dog syndrome. knows how to use her puppy face, treat cynophobia (abnormal fear of dogs) & best of all she can teach how to love.

in 2005, the liberal government of ontario, canada passed bill 132: the dog owner’s liability act — a ban against pit bull terriers, pronouncing the breed exceedingly threatening.

members of provincial parliament (mpp(s)) from opposite ends of the political spectrum unite to overturn bill 132 in ontario. “we know breed-specific legislation doesn’t work.” said new democratic party mpp cheri dinovo, who intends to initiate a private members bill to revoke the ban on pit bulls. mpps will vote on overturning bill 132 february 2012.

bill 132 discriminates against even the most responsible owners based on the appearance of their dogs, not how the dog behaves.

stop canine profiling. lift the ontario pit bull ban. overturn bill 132.
