en el paso de las hadas (in the passage of the fairies). photographer kevin sinclair’s editorial captures model marcelina sowa at an exotic location known as the “fairy stream” in mui ne, vietnam. the protagonist of this story radiates in a whimsical wardrobe of white & gold garments. stylist andrew holden translates the subtlety & purity of white magic through fashion w/selects from alexander mcqueen, hermès, giambattista valli, prada, chanel, etro, louis vuitton & others.

white magick by lover, a collection of high-end white lace dresses selected from the archives & re-envisioned. after receiving numerous requests from customers, designers susien chong & nic briand revive the label’s most iconic creations. “over the years we have been contacted by customers & heard stories of women desperate to find styles from our archive, be it for their wedding day or a particularly special occasion.” the beautiful collection includes some über-chic, feminine & refined dresses. white magick also includes the finale dress from last year’s 10th anniversary show worn by myf shepherd & the spring/summer 2005 black magick plunging v-dress worn by miranda kerr.

elie saab couture spring 2012 is even more diaphanous than prior seasons. the slimmer lines & embroidered patterns of his long flowing skirts (saab’s specialty) are sweet, brilliant & virginal. tone-on-tone embroidery of sparkling flowers give a lighter feel compared to his recent couture collections. on the runway he showed full-skirted party frocks & slim evening gowns in a rainbow of pastel shades, nearly all of them sparkly. what separates one from the next is the cut of the neckline, presence or absence of sleeves, length of a train & the occasional cape. the oversize botanical print is nearly regarded as an afterthought amid the white, pink, peach, yellow, green & blue. despite all the handwork, these dresses—w/the exception of an uncharacteristically heavy wedding gown—appear almost weightless.
